Fantasia Barrino has seen quite a lot throughout her career, and her fans have been taken on a roller coaster of emotions through the years, ever since her original appearance on American Idol that resulted in her rise to fame in the first place.
In the end, though, she has managed to pull through quite successfully and has made it clear to her fans that she fully intends to continue developing her life and career as best as possible.
She recently discussed the highs and lows of her career, and the talk eventually steered in the direction of relationships.
Fantasia then went on to share some controversial views that immediately drew a lot of attention to her, explaining that many women today were trying to take on the role of a man and that they should instead submit to their partners.
She added that this was the reason why many women had trouble finding a man these days, pointing out that a woman can’t be “the king in the house.”
In the end, Kendall Taylor’s wife stated that women should fall back, be the queen, and let their men lead the way.
The American Idol star said this while on The Breakfast Club: “Most women are trying to be the leader. That’s why you can’t find a man. You can’t be the king in the house. Fall back and be the queen and let your man lead the way. That’s why we bump heads. I feel like it’s a generational thing. We can go really deep on that, but it’s a generational curse and how society have placed our men and women have to stand up and be the mother and the father.”
The 35-year-old singer added: “You have to find how to submit. You can still be a queen. The queen plays a part. The king needs his queen. There are certain things that he can’t see that we see.”
While some of her fans seemed to agree with her, others were more critical of her statements, claiming that she was trying to undermine the considerable progress made by women activists over the last decades.
Her fans noted that she might have a point, as there has been a noticeable trend lately of women refusing to accept the “leadership” of a man in their own households.
